The short version
GoProOffice does not require an account (one is optional, see “Optional accounts”) and does not ask for your name, email address or other personal details to use its tools. The numbers you type into our calculators and the Business Idea Check are processed in your own browser and are not sent to us or stored by us. If you sign in to an optional account, your Business Idea Check plan is also kept in it, as described under “Optional accounts”.
Who runs GoProOffice
GoProOffice is owned and operated by GHL Financial Services, which offers business formation, tax and bookkeeping services.
The Business Idea Check
Your Business Idea Check answers, business idea and financial figures stay on your device. As you work, the Business Idea Check keeps a copy of your plan in your browser’s local storage so you can pick up where you left off; it is not placed in the page address, sent to us or shared with anyone — except that, while you are signed in to a GoProOffice account, a copy is also kept in your account (see “Optional accounts”), and “Forget” or “Start over” removes that copy too. It is deleted after 60 days without changes, and you can remove it at any time with “Forget” or “Start over” in the Business Idea Check, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser — worth doing on a shared computer. If you choose “Start this business in Run your business” at the end, only a name (from your idea’s description), whether it is starting or running, and its structure if you gave one are copied into Business Success, where they are kept as described under “Optional accounts”. If you choose “Save my plan”, a file is created on your own device and nothing is uploaded; you can open it again later. A PDF you save is also created on your own device.
Optional accounts
You can create a free account to keep a record for each of your businesses, and your Business Launch and Business Year progress, on more than one device. Nothing on the site requires one.
What we keep if you do: your email address, and what you save while signed in in Business Success:
- each business you add: its name, whether it is starting or running, and its structure;
- its checklist progress: which items you have checked, your answers to its plan questions and monthly check-ins (such as how many employees it has);
- its figures, if you enter them: monthly amounts such as revenue, operating profit, bank balance, unpaid invoices, upcoming obligations and owner pay, each marked as an estimate or an actual, with an optional short note on where it came from;
- its improvement projects, if you start one: which project, the short notes you write about it, the measure you chose and the dates.
If you work on the Business Idea Check while signed in, your plan is kept too: the answers and figures you enter, short text such as your idea’s description and offer names, and the step you reached. “Forget” or “Start over” in the Business Idea Check removes it.
We do not store documents, account numbers, Social Security numbers or anything about other people there. Please do not type them into a note.
It is kept until you delete it: each figure, project or business can be deleted in Business Success (deleting a business deletes its figures and projects), “Delete” in Business Launch or Business Year removes the progress, and writing to us at the address on the Contact page removes the account and everything saved with it.
How it works: you sign in with a six-digit code sent to your email, so there is no password. Codes are sent by our email provider (Resend). Accounts and saved progress are held with our database provider (Supabase), in the same database GHL Financial Services uses for its own website. GoProOffice accounts are kept separate from GHL accounts: signing in here does not sign you in to GHL, and a GoProOffice account cannot be used to sign in to GHL. What you save is readable only by your own account, and is not used for advertising, sold or shared. GHL staff can see that an account exists, its email address and when it signed up, and can lock or delete it.
If you do not sign in, none of this applies: the businesses you add in Business Success, with their checklists, figures and improvement projects, are kept in your own browser’s local storage and are not sent to us. The first time you sign in on that browser they move into your account, and the browser copy is removed. Without signing in, delete them in Business Success, or clear this site’s data in your browser (worth doing on a shared computer).
Links to GHL Financial Services
Some pages link to GHL Financial Services’ website, where you can ask about its services. Those links open GHL’s site in a new tab and pass only the name of the service you chose — none of your answers or results. Anything you submit on GHL’s website is handled under GHL’s own privacy policy.
Information processed when you visit
Like every website, our hosting provider receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. This information is used to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose problems. It is retained by the hosting provider according to its own policies.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Calculator inputs
All calculations run locally in your browser. To make results easy to share, a calculator’s numbers are kept in the page address (for example, ?price=100). They are not sent to us while you type, but if you open, bookmark or share such a link, its address — including those numbers — is requested from our hosting provider like any web address. Calculators ask only for business figures, never personal details.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to reply and keep it no longer than needed for that purpose.
Future changes
We may later add display advertising or other features. Before they go live we will update this policy to describe exactly what is collected and by whom and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
If we sell templates, payments will be handled by an established payment provider. We will never receive or store your full card number.
Selling or sharing personal information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
GoProOffice is a business resource intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
